About the Community Service Center

What is the Community Service Center?

The Center for Civic Engagement and Service is UCCS' all-encompassing service center. The Center is your one- stop-shop for all of your community service needs. We connect the UCCS family with local and global community opportunities. Lessons learned outside the classroom are powerful and mutually beneficical and thus, we offer opportunities to expose students to new perspectives and collaboration to develop a more purposeful sense of responsibility to the greater society.

There will be both ongoing and one-time service opportunities to students, as well as: connecting students to on and off campus volunteer opportunities, centralized hub for student service organizations, and resources for planning volunteer and community service projects.

Why Get Involved?

There are so many reasons to get involved in community service. Community Service doesn't just help the needy or an organization you care about, but it also gives you a sense of accomplishment knowing that you made a difference in someone else's life. Research also shows that volunteers enjoy better health, make new friendships, stay active and involved in the community, and learn new skills.

Advance your Career:

Volunteering will help contribute to your resumes, which is great career enhancement. Potential employers are looking for well-rounded individuals, which can be demonstrated through community engagement. Feel free to add all of the community service you have done to your resume.
