COMMUNITY - We establish and promote civic engagement partnerships that are purposeful, mutually beneficial, and focused toward the advancement of the UCCS, Colorado Springs, and surrounding communities/establishments.
AWARENESS - We support student ideas and guide students in the process of becoming informed and aware of the importance of active citizenship in order to create effective leaders capable of building relationships and personal connections.
RESPONSIBILITY - Through a collaborative pertnership between students, faculty, staff, and community partners, we teach the importance of personal and social responsibility by transforming volunteers into productive, thoughtful and inspiring campus and community leaders.
ENGAGEMENT - We foster engagement that is focused around self-discovery, community immersion, comprehension of the perception of others, and exploration of common interests. We create programs through the collection of data and the measurement of outcomes in order to provide the strongest opportunity for students.
SERVICE - We connect students, faculty, staff, and community partners with one another in the promotion of ongoing, as well as one-time volunteer opportunities in the community, both locally and globally, with compassion, creativity, and care in mind.
The center of Civic Engagement and Service (CCES) connects students to volunteer and service opportunities across the UCCS campus and the Pikes Peak Region in order to promote a student-oriented, co-curricular approach to learning and civic engagement.
